Melissa M. Douglas, AIA, specializes in architectural programming and space planning, interiors, feasibility studies and marketing.
A seasoned architect, Melissa has over 36 years of experience in design and documentation, with an extensive background in architectural design, programming, feasibility studies, space planning, interiors and construction. Melissa listens to her client’s needs and goals, striving to truly understand the users of a facility, making sure that what they need and where they need it to be is documented and becomes part of the finished product. Using her experience in materials performance, she creates spaces that are functional, durable and beautiful as well.
Melissa is familiar with many building types, both new construction and renovations, as well as repurposing the “spaces left behind” when new buildings are added, or departments relocate. Her experience includes universities, transit and police facilities, hotels, restaurants, dance facilities, museums, office buildings and retail. Melissa graduated from UT Austin and worked for several internationally known architecture firms in Rome, Boston and Dallas, before settling to San Antonio.
